Five Beauty Trends from Oscars 2013

The red carpet extravaganza was two weeks ago. However, the looks presented on it are still impacting our SS 2013 wardrobe. Are the fresh faced looks and brightly colored lips a hint of what is to come in the Spring? I think so. Jessica Chastain (yes black women can adapt this look as well as Anne Hathaway’s), Anne Hathaway, Naomie Harris, Kelly Rowland and Kerry Washington are pointing the way to some amazing beauty trends this season.

Kelly Rowland in Matte Pink

Kelly Rowland tapped into her 60s child with this matte pink lip. Be careful that it doesn’t make your lips look ashy by adding a flesh colored lip liner around the edge. This lip calls for boldness on the eyes like winged out liner and a metallic shadow.

Golden Goddess Naomie Harris

Naomie Harris stepped onto the red carpet with an amazing glow. The hue of her skin was complimented well by her golden frock and her barely there makeup was perfection. Here’s how to get the look.

Pretty in Pink, Anne Hathaway

Anne stepped out in a pastel pink dress. She combined it with a matte pink lip and winged out liner. This was a perfect contrast to her porcelain skin and raven hair.

Naomi, Kerry, and Jessica's make up looks good. Its clean,fresh, and not to dramatic. I like makeup that focus on the eyes and lips. No blush, and creamy foundation. I like for my skin to breathe.

I like Kelly's "smokey" eyes but not the bright pink lipstick.

Tanisa you do a wonderful job of introducing fashion and make-up trends to the site. I use Mac's Taupe matte lipstick for that "barely there make up" look, and my lips never look dry or ashy.
