Beauty Round Up: Aerosol Foundation, 2FroChics, and Vitamin C Serum for Smooth Skin

I love the look of airbrushed makeup, but not all the maintenance it takes to keep it up. You have to keep the reservoir clean, maintain the hoses, mix the colors and is cumbersome to store. You can’t take it with you and touching up means you have to pull everything out and must be cleaned after each use. That’s why when I discovered Diorskin Airflash Spray Foundation in Mocha 600.

I love how light and airy it is, and eliminated the need for a primer. It gives a smooth finish, mattifies, and reduces the appearance of pores, and evens skin tone. Those are the pros.

Here are the cons.

It get everywhere if you don’t aim right. Check out how I manage it.

What’s the Deal with All the Vitamin C Serums?

I’ve been seeing the proliferation of Vitamin C serums as of late, and I have to admit they show amazing promise for aging skin–both as a powerful antioxidant and collagen boosting agent. I own two separate kinds, and it’s been a couple weeks and I love how clear, soft and supple my skin has looked. Here’s a photo I took just tonight after my nighttime skin care regimen.

Not bad for (almost 42, huh?)

But the writer in me has been curious about what the experts were saying. The most reliable source I’ve found to drill pass all the full, pretty bottles and BS is best selling author of Don’t Go to the Cosmetics Counter without Me, author, Paula Begoun.

It’s important to mention that vitamin C forms are effective in lower concentrations, so don’t get caught up in the belief that only higher strengths are beneficial for skin. Research has shown that concentrations as low 0.6% provide antioxidant and anti-aging benefits to skin (Skin Research and Technology, 2008). Depending on your concerns, you may do just fine using a regular-strength vitamin C product, especially is said product also contains a range of great ingredients to smooth, repair, and replenish skin.

Without question, vitamin C is a powerful tool in your anti-aging arsenal. For best results, use it strategically and as part of a routine that includes a daily broad-spectrum sunscreen plus irritant-free products that contain a skin-pleasing mix of antioxidants, skin-repairing agents, and cell-communicating ingredients.
