@dani-BBW Personally I found this article interesting but mostly because I wrote a romance book of a similar theme. Except the man wasn't married, and replace mafia with yakuza. And it was (obvi) BW/AM.

Anywho, I think this article is more about showing that IR love happens anywhere, even in unorthodox scenarios like the one listed above.

@introvertedwanderer @BlackCherry @LorMarie I enjoy reality tv, watched Mob wives for the first season, haven't watched it again.
@dani-BBW So true dani-BBW! I found the story interesting and would never have an inkling of a scenario like that! Everything is not painted in roses and happy-happy. There are real world issues going on and people experiencing different things! Nothing wrong with showing it now and again!

Wait is this supposed to be a good thing? she married a mobster whats good about that. I highly doubt if this gangster was black that this post would end by wishing them luck, instead it would be saying how their relationship is doomed and she deserves better. She got involved with a married man and surprise surprise other women were not welcoming of her.

"Could you resist that?"

Yeah, I could resist a gangster. If he were Black wouldn't we all be saying he was a DBRBM who we should vet and avoid? Marrying a mobster (especially one who a hit man) doesn't sound romantic to me.

Me personally, I LIKE hearing about different walks of life in regard to swirling because it is INTERESTING. Just because something is posted doesn't mean its subjects are role models for the readership here. A couple of years ago, there was a piece on a white guy who used to be a neo-nazi but left that life behind and was engaged/dating a BW. While I PERSONALLY would not date that kind of guy, it was still interesting to learn about the path his life took. These women are not being held up as the "new, new black woman," - if they were I could understand the hand-wringing; but if anything, the younger readers here should look at how these women got involved with these men and avoid making the same mistakes. Sometimes when you are not in a particular culture, subtle nuances that are red flags get lost on you, the way they wouldn't on someone of the same culture.

So I am very interested in hearing unique stories about swirling. A US black woman who got involved with a para-military leader in FARC - a criminal org committing human rights abuses? Sign me up! Or a real life BW former spy who killed people (awful!) and was involved with her French boss? Sure! Or a BW who married a WM and together they ran an illegal bootlegging business during Prohibition? Definitely interested! Doesn't mean these women are bastions of virtue that we should all aspire to.

What's the difference between covering this story and all of the research someone did on Black Mormon wives in the 1800's?
