@Law Wanxi Ever heard of the “barracuda glass experiment”? Basically you take a school of ferocious barracuda and a school of fish they ordinarily enjoy feeding on and you put them in a tank, separated by a glass wall.

Of course the barracuda will immediately try and eat the other fish. That’s their natural survival instinct. And they will fail, because that wall is there, keeping them from the other fish. Eventually, they accept the presence of the wall and the fact that they cannot get at the other fish.

When the wall is eventually lifted, rather than see this as an opportunity to finally chow down, they will swim among the other fish peacefully, because they’ already accepted the fact that they, for whatever reason, cannot eat the fish.

It was a very interesting read for me, because it’s something that you figuratively see being done to other groups of people or felt others trying to do to you.

I’m going speed dating tonight. Glad you mentioned that. The ages are 24-36. I’m 32 so I think this is a good range. I would like the 30-40 age range more. But that one isn’t until June.

@Lili2009 Absolutely agree. I find this the case. They’re less concerned about what others think of their choices and are more confident than most 25-35 year old men.

From time to time, people will ask me, because I have recently become very interested in the subject, about life in North Korea under the Kim Regimes. Eventually, someone asks, especially people I call Whiny White Liberals(tm), WWL’s, “how can those North Korean people be so crazy to put up with that?”

Indoctrination from the womb, that’s how.

For the last few months, I’ve been using things I’ve learned on this blog and others to explain how that level of loyalty comes about. I use the example of how Black women living in the Black Construct [thanks, CW] are really not all that different from North Koreans, to give them an accessible and nearby example.

OK, “You are not first,…” – The DPRK is first and every citizen is willing to die for the DPRK and have their children die, too. The DPRK is everything and you are nothing. ”There is no righteous anger”; none is allowed and the DPRK is one of the few nations on earth [any more] who will kill a citizen for trying to escape and should they escape, if they return they are punished severely, and yet some do return because they cannot live away from North Korea because they understand no other way of life. Sound familiar? “You are not allowed to discuss or critically think about issues that affect you. ” Well, you’d better not; there are places to send people like that in the DPRK and they’re not nice. But they don’t anyway, because of the from the womb indoctrination.

I go on and on with these explanations, watching with glee as the WWL’s begin to squirm, through a fairly complete comparison. I won’t cover that here, because the choir does not require further preaching. I end up with, “So, you see, it’s fairly easy to accomplish. It could happen here, because it already has.”

It’s not a perfect comparison, there are striking differences. North Koreans get free [very low quality] medical and dental care, a theoretically guaranteed minimum living standard and free education through graduate school. Does the Black Construct do that for Black women in America? Nope. I sometimes wonder if a North Korean woman outside of Pyongyang, let’s say on the other side of the Yalu River from China, were to know the truth, which is not portrayed worldwide except for blogs like this, about how Black women live in the Black Construct might not think to herself, “This place isn’t all that bad; at least I’m not a Black woman in the USA.” and go back to teaching her children about Juche.

Men just care less about what family thinks as they get older, right? Don’t men remarry at higher rates, too? I don’t know. I just think that if a guy is divorced or if he’s an older guy without parents to please, he’s more inclined to swirl than an aging woman who is probably already having a hard time finding a man (because those older men are looking for younger women) so maybe between a smaller dating pool and self-protection, aging women might feel they’ll have more success within the comfort of their own culture? Just throwing some ideas out there! I think we need another study!

I’m wishing you nothing but the best. I marvel at your experiences with online dating – while computer algorithms are pretty amazing, there’s still no quantifying that je-ne-sais-quoi / spark / it-factor of face-to face interpersonal interactions. Which leads me to my main question that keeps popping up when I read your posts:

When you leave your house, how many men do you actually smile at, nod at, flirt with in a day?

Call me old-fashioned, while I think online dating is great as one approach, I still think you need to physically get out there and go where the QLL men are. And the more men you meet, the more men you will have to vet, and the higher the chances of finding several good’uns and then the One.
That’s what I understand by the phrase ‘making your own luck’.

That being said, I’m keeping my fingers crossed for your Shaggy-look-a-like.:-D

As an official “old dude” I can say what I’ve been saying on BWE boards for three or four years now—many white guys have always liked BW, but now we can say it out loud. If we could only have said it all those years ago. Our culture is very hard on guys who “break the rules.” As I said in my review of Chris’s book on Amazon, “The time has come”——finally!
