Another clip from the never-ending-editing job for yo.pila.barre, a dvd I’m working on that combines the practices of yoga, pilates and the Barre Method I’ve been working on that is helping me keep fit after shedding four children. You know what’s gonna be interesting about this video? Because it’s been filmed on location and at various times, you’ll see some physical transformations as I progress with this practice and implement some additional dietary changes, like reducing my daily intake of sugar to 15-20 grams per day. BTW, I’ve been hearing some positive feedback from some of my chicas who gave up the sweet stuff, like Cherilyn Smith, who lost five pounds, albeit kicking and screaming. ;-) Click here to find out how I gave up sugar but manage to have chocolate.

Mmmmm. Chocolate.

Thank you.  Now I have a question for you.  Have you ever heard of Barreamped?  I just received a vid via email and I want to do a class.  Of course, the only class where I live is a driving challenge but if it's worth it, I may do it.  Have you ever done it?

Karla I haven't heard of it, no. I'll look into it. Is it based on the Barre Method?

Christelyn Here's the website: http://barreamped.com/.  Also, this is the video I saw: http://www.draxe.com/tv/.  It looks intriguing and intense but I don't think I could do it with a portable barre like I have.

Karla Okay this is a suped-up barre method, and YES you can do this at home. I do all the time. Use your bar or a chair.

Christelyn Thanks.  I figured it out.  I can put sandbags on my portable barre and it won't budge.  I'm going to try it.
