Yes, Oxblood. For you non-fashion types that’s code for Burgundy. You know the fashion industry likes to “innovate” every thing. How else are they going to make an old trend new again? So, oxblood it is, I “ain’t mad atcha.”

Oxblood, the moody twin sister of red made a huge splash on the runways this past spring, showcasing how it was going to hijack the scene and so it did. Never to mince words or speak at all, oxblood is seemingly subtle until she daggers you.

This is a color for all skin tones and hues. Anyone can do Oxblood. It is like us fashionistas Goth trend without being TOO GOTH. It is also the answer to those wanting to wear color but are terrified of red. It’s close enough to black to make the wearer not feel overwhelmed.

I put together a few items for you to check out. Have fun shopping Oxblood this fall and winter..

"Oxblood" AKA burgundy/cranberry, is one of my favorite accent colors...More subdued and complimentary to my complexion than red..."White House Black Market" carries some lovely blazers in that color....

You're right about this being a popular color for this season.  I've seen it in all the new clothes for winter, even bought some things in that color myself.  You're right, this is a color any skin tone looks good in.

Love that little cap sleeve dress!
