Five Minute Jane Iredale Look for Beauty on the Go

One of my favorite things to do is sit down in front of my make up mirror and do my makeup, and I really don’t mind how long  it takes, because I’m usually listening to a Stephen King audio book! But sometimes I don’t have lot of time but want to throw a little color and coverage on my face. I’ve been able to pull off this look in about five minutes using some of my favorite Jane Iredale colors. The distinction between Jane Iredale is the company’s goal to provide great makeup that’s also great for your skin. It’s pricey, but in my opinion, not over priced. In this case, you get what you pay for. The line is free of chemical dies, paragons, preservatives…all the bad stuff.

During the hot summer I really don’t like anything liquid or cake form on my skin besides sunscreen. That’s why I’m mostly using Jane Iredale’s Pure Pressed Based Mineral Foundation ($52) in MAPLE. This stuff is amazing, and I can easily build for more coverage if I need to. I don’t use the powder puff that comes with the compact. Instead I use a pretty big, fat powder brush.

This compact, while expensive, is a foundation, powder, concealer and broad spectrum sunscreen with SPF 20 UVB/UVA and is water resistant up to 40 minutes of application. It also has antioxidants such as Pine Bark Extract and Pomegranate Extract (a potent antioxidant that aids in minimizing UV damage).

I apply Pure Pressed Blush in FLUSHED ($27). This is also buildable so you can go light during the day and double up for an evening look. It can even double as an eyeshadow. I just noticed that they no longer carry this color, but I found one pretty close. It’s called IN LOVE.

I then shape my brows, apply a liquid eye liner along the base of the upper lid and use a pencil liner on the bottom to help frame my eyes. This will take the most time to apply. Finish with mascara.

This company’s lip stains, dubbed Lip Fixation, is growing on me. One side is the stain, the other is the gloss. You can use the stain and skip the gloss for a matte look, or use the gloss for silky, shiny finish. I’m wearing FASCINATION ($30), which is a rosy pink.

And viola!
