One she should have added is one I get all the time from my white female (and male) friends is how they like to compare their racist expereinces to mine somehow thinking they are equalizing them. Example (from a real conversation I had)ME: I had a friend who is beautiful black woman who just bought herself a new porche with her songwriting royalties and was pulled over by a bunch of cops in Los Angeles who accused her of stealing the car. When they ran the tags and found out she was the owner they yelled at her about some trival nonsense, blew it off and drove off with no apology. Her: Well I have been pulled over by the police before I would not read too much into it.ME: I hate it when store employees treat me like "Shaniqua" from da hood (Following me around the store, asks for 5 forms of ID before they will take my check, won't put change in my hand, etc.) when nothing in my conduct or behavior warrants that kind of treatment.HER: Well a cashier at Ralphs was rude to me a few times, maybe she had a bad day.

More things she has said to me:Well My son got pissed at school becasue all the other kids could wear "Brown" "Black" "Asian" power t-shirts but if he wore a white power t-shirt to school they would be pissed. (If a t-shirt was the only thing that I had to be concerned about as my life problem I would sacrifce the shirt)"I was married to a black man , and I was treated badly by some black women" (WW badge of honor that they feel our "pain)Regarding the Henry Louis Gates arrest I don't see what the problem is, the police were just doing their job. (Spoken by someone who has never been racially profiled)Mind you , my friend is really a nice person, she just has no clue how racism affects blacks. It seems to be a common disease with alot of whites, they try to make it look like we are overracting to things. They honestly don't realize that many times it is racist and not a supermarket clerk PMSing. So i don't try to explain anymore, they don't get it. they mean well but they don't get it.

I've only seen the clips. Does anyone know when the show will re-air?

Nonya 127 pts

Actually, I wish a WW or WM would tell me that the video was racist, just so I can say "I totally agree with you. Some of those comments are, if not racist, certainly ignorant. So you do plan on telling WW you know to not make such comments to BW? 'Cause from your reaction, it sounds like you might know some who say stuff like that"

Naturally, I agree with of one of her responses; along lines of you can only be offended if you see yourself in the ignorant statements mentioned. I wonder if that sank in the heads of the complainers including silly WW on the show who asked why therms black & white had to be used in the video. Really dumdum? How about because that's what actually happened (ie WW made each comment to a BW)? Furthermore, BW everywhere including most of those who contacted Franchesca said they've gotten some/all of those comments before. SMH

Rosie S 794 pts

Nonya I like how Fran handled the situation too. That WW seemed like she was going to burst into tears. Fran told her stright up and told her how it felt to have WW say stuff like this to BW.

Anderson Cooper has his own talk show??? Good Lord. Perhaps I need to subscribe to cable ....

Pearl 2251 pts

For some reason I can't reply..

@ Mocha Z

Me and my sister used the same thing when were getting "hollered at" by the brothers.. We don't do that any more it doesn't help the situation AT ALL..

Girls can be so cruel.. for some reason these white girls and our hair I mean.. they want to get to second base before I even talk to them.. what is that about.. thats what my AF was trippin off of lol

And they can be jealous too, clenching their boyfriends when where around.. I'm like c'mon this is 10th grade you guys aren't gonna last anyway lol

Just YESTERDAY, my teacher asked if I had a weave.. I told her to just give me my homework.. I love having friends but .. these groups of women NOT ALL of them, but most of them irritate me till the point to where I just ignore them.. I don't have the time..

NO I don't care your boyfriend is black,

And you know the other thing, they think because they see people that I have known for YEARS touch me or my hair.. they can too.. I don't know you!! And I don't want to!

Mocha Z 1787 pts

Pearl

Ok...the teacher? Too much! WTC is that about? Why are people so doggone nosy about what bw/bg do with their hair/

Reminds me of ABG scene with the boss lady and she dreams of how she would curse her out, lol. Too many liberties are taken with bw/bg. Plain disrespectful!

I had a friend whose hair reached midback and yet she always wore wigs. She learned to protect her hair that way from her mother. That is nobody's business but hers

Rosie S 794 pts

Mocha ZPearl Exactly it almost feels like they are analyzing an animal. Its disturbing because they're "mentally dissecting" parts of bg/bw bodies. SMH

I find if you reverse the comment on them and make them consider the stupidity of their statements they have nothing to say and scatter away like crabs.

ForestElfQueen 2112 pts

Pearl "I'm like c'mon this is 10th grade you guys aren't gonna last anyway lol.."

bahaha!

EarthJeff 754 pts

Pearl Wow, the teacher really asked you that? I agree with Mocha .. that is too much. I would never, never ask a student that. Of course, I would never ask any woman that unless our relationship was WELL along...

Pearl 2251 pts

Ooooh weee, this reminds me when I was out with my Asian GF

She has a real sense of entitlement over me and is very protective, like most of all my friends for some reason..

This blonde boogawoo, comes and almost pulls my kinky wig off.. (I lie frequently because it looks so real lmao) only my friend knows about it and I only know about her extensions lol..

Anyway as this Kernal looking blonde reaches her witch fingers towards my hair grabs some of my hair..

WHAM! Asian GF, grabs her hand smacks it and says.. "Is this the petting zoo?, Huh is it? Anwer my asian ass!!"

Blonde boogawoo: "I was just,,"

"NO!, This is my woman! This is my wife, don't you disrespect me!! Who raised you!!" said Asian GF...

I was so shocked and a bit embarrased because she made us look like we were married when we both look 15 lol

The blonde didn't even buy her smoothie, I could not stop laughing, everyone was looking at us and wondering if we were really together.... AND is my hair fake LOL

And while were still in the store she starts rubbing my arm and saying "my precious" like Butters on South Park..

Epic Moment.. I pray to god it never happens again.. at least not in that way

Mocha Z 1787 pts

Pearl ""NO!, This is my woman! This is my wife, don't you disrespect me!! Who raised you!!" said Asian GF..."

ROFLMAO....this is so phunny!!! So Cal Asians roll like that and I love it! No worries, hon, they all talk like that and then some. Most claim each other as wives on FB, lol.

I am glad you guys got each other's back like that! My dd is toughening up. I told her she need to grab some of your energy. She's kind of a softy.

Mocha Z 1787 pts

I posted this on the other post with Franchesca. For those that don't think we should beat a dead horse in the ground....WRONG!

DD calls me from tennis practice near the surf and turf...super exclusive, filled with hoity toity snotty and insane children minus mine and twins boys A & D(coolest kids....and Asian).

She sounds hot, emotional and ready to bust. Now, I have been using BBW, youtube and other blogs to school her on protecting herself, she has been pretty sheltered from most of this but she was teamed up on today.

Wgs out of the blue: That doesn't look like real hair speaking of dd hair in it's natural state. I hear bg don't wash their hair and it's always dirty. You would rather your hair over the kind of hair I have...reaching to touch dd hair.

Thanks to DeeDee and reading some of the responses from the last one and some of my responses to what wg's say, she was equipped.

DD response: Reach back touching wg hair. You would rather this? I hear all white girls have lice. End of convo. Girl stormed off.

The stupid stuff has to be countered. That girl did this very publicly attempting to cause dd humiliation. People don't like to be on the receiving end of their stupidity.

DeeDeeRussell 722 pts

Mocha Z So sorry to hear what is happening to your DD- if I was a parent...honey hush- talk about protective. While I don't talk about lice to the WW who grab my hair- lol! I do question their conditioner and bleaching methods when get start grabbing my hair, as one did last night. You're also right, they do it to humiliate us, I never let them get to me, sweet smiles all the way.

Mocha Z 1787 pts

DeeDeeRussell Ha ha...I will tell her about the bleaching etc. Most of those girls are young. But I have another one up my sleeve to combat some of that mess.

Most coaches see me smile sweetly and drop her off. If they get crazy and start throwing their narcissism(they mostly all have it) around and attempt to control or degrade dd....it's over. The lioness uses the claws. Takes no prisoners. I don't play. The tennis world is very hostile to bw/bg.

Mocha Z 1787 pts

DeeDeeRussell Had a tennis coach bm/ww married whose wife made a comment to insinuate that she had better genes that her bm husband. Lol, this guy thought he was a kang with the bleach blond lobster who was afraid the pasty twins they had would get darker and develop fros. I had to shut down her genetics drama so she would leave me alone with all of her silly talk about her husband being so proud their twins look so white and it was her good genes....wtc?

This was in response to her concern over her husband being in the sun one day.

I told her my grandmother was the same coloring as her with blue eyes/blonde hair. My grandfather looked 20 years younger than my grandfather as they aged because his skin was pretty protected from the sun and wrinkles by his darker complexion. No worries.... I assured her that he should be fine in the sun considering my grandfather was wrinkle free and didn't bother with sunblock and grandma didn't do so well. She had that one coming. It was actually my first time ever doing that but it did stop her for talking to me at all and that worked for me!

Mocha Z 1787 pts

DeeDeeRussell correction*20 years younger than my grandmother*

Rosie S 794 pts

Mocha ZDeeDeeRussell This is disgusting...especially how they treat others with common courtesy and decide "oh its a bg/bw I can do whatever I want. They can't get offended!" SMH.

And its not like these girls don't know how to be polite. I have never seen ww like this grab the heads of Asian women, Indian women, Hispanic women, other ww, or any other group. They know that they're being rude. Then when you say no they run off with a 'huff' and 'attitude'. Entitlement makes me sick.

Mocha Z 1787 pts

Rosie SDeeDeeRussell The entitlement almost had me fighting mad, lol. She handled and diffused. She knows I will start my roar. Those are some fully trained to be obnoxious kids. They sniff around to see who is the weak and go for the blood. They have a new victim weekly. The didn't get the memo about this negress lioness....yet!

Rosie S 794 pts

Mocha ZDeeDeeRussell Bw have claws too. I think your daughter handled it well. She diffused the situation without aggressiveness. Hilariously, this entitled rude ww also couldn't use the angry bw stereotype because not only your daughter stopped what she was doing, she showed the foolishness & stupidity of this ww's actions.

I think bg should learn how to diffuse situations without being aggressive/emotional bc not only does it fuel stereotypes but it doesn't solve the problem. Giving a taste of their own medicine in a 'polite but sneaky & non-confrontational manner' exactly like these ww tend to do causes them to stop and makes them think twice before messing with a bw.

Plus it is so much more classy and to avoid stooping to the level of a person who would say something like that.

ForestElfQueen 2112 pts

Mocha ZDeeDeeRussell "I assured her that he should be fine in the sun considering my grandfather was wrinkle free and didn't bother with sunblock and grandma didn't do so well."

lol! excellent!

DeeDeeRussell 722 pts

Rosie SMocha Z @Rosie, exactly BW need to diffuse the situation without drama I'm happy to share what works and mirroring is a mighty lesson when done with a smile and zero attitude just casual like, I always touch the hair of WP who touch my hair without asking permission, sort of a thing, causal calm normal. Mighty message.

DeeDeeRussell 722 pts

Rosie SMocha Z People treat you the way you allow them to, for the most part. I am usually tickled to touch their hair back and watch the reality check flash across their faces like "...that Black chick just touch my hair...as if she knew me, what nerve!...oh wait, she's doing that cause I touched her first. Ooops." Mucho teachable moments.

Ms. Kay 143 pts

Mocha ZRosie SDeeDeeRussell Yes. I've always believed that people sniff out, fear and weakness in others and then pounce on them.... there is a saying I usde to hear my Aunt say to some of her friends "Duppy know who to frighten"....meaning some people sniff out and go after the frail and weak...*smh*

Ms. Kay 143 pts

DeeDeeRussellRosie SMocha Z @ DeeDeeRussell. "people treat you the way you allow them to"....so true. I think someone said in past post that "you teach people how to treat you"...

DeeDeeRussell 722 pts

Mocha Z Wow! Yes the tennis world is hostile to BW/BG, as the champion Williams sisters could attest. Sad story about tennis instructor; more and more I have no patience with folks who show no empathy for BW, have to rein myself in. And what sort of BM lets any women police his his sunbathing and furthermore if she hates dark skin so much why breed with a BM?

Mocha Z 1787 pts

DeeDeeRussell And what sort of BM lets any women police his his sunbathing and furthermore if she hates dark skin so much why breed with a BM?

Right! DD said that the wife hinted that he was hard to deal with. My bw hairdresser friend said that ww tennis coaches wife would cry in her chair about him while she was waiting for the bleach to work, lol. Other gossip reached her chair by a mutual acquaintance that let you know that all wasn't right in the land of lala.

Her fear of their turning to black was irritating and pathetic. That self hate some bm have leads them to marry ww with even less value for them. My blond haired/blue eyed grandmother loved all her brown grandchildren all the way to the chocolate drop.

eugeniamitchell 3482 pts moderator

She looks like Aisha Tyler sort of, that's just a random thought.

DeeDeeRussell 722 pts

eugeniamitchell Yes she does adorable and savvy in equal measures its fun watching the her influence grow & the show is great on youtube it's better than network tv! she's wise to retain creative control!

TJD 290 pts

Two things:

1. I died laughing and my white male colleague turned me on to the video. When I told him about the criticism, his response was a smirk and "Whatever".

2. It was amusing to me because I have experienced A LOT of those situations with my white girlfriends (seriously). I think those who were offended were that way because she had a blonde wig on.

introvertedwanderer 429 pts

TJD Yeah, I think the wig had a lot to do with it. She was mocking them, and then the wig just added to it. I look at it like it's a lot better than when some white people, thinking they are funny or cute, do black-face and wear gaudy jewelry for Halloween, because in their eyes, that's all of the black experience. I saw a picture of some teenagers dressed like that on another blog, and I was like "Really?" So, this stuff is still going on. They looked so ridiculous.

DeeDeeRussell 722 pts

introvertedwandererTJD I agree the wig added more flames to the fire. Too bad. As you said, H'wood give them license to parody BP.

AJ2011 750 pts

This is off but has anyone noticed the irony here? Crazy Bruh goes on TV and looks like a complete fool (the girl he grabbed didn't help). Meanwhile Chesca is opening channels for a REAL dialogue about race and she is flawless.

DeeDeeRussell 722 pts

AJ2011 Flawless...for the world to see! A star is born on Anderson Cooper dang I Love to see BW succeed!

Jamila 2819 pts

I think part of the reason we are seeing so much pushback against Chesca's video is that, in a way, they are a bit different than the other titles.

All of the videos are about what so-and-so says, but only Chesca's video seems to bring a third-party into the story by talking about what is being said to someone else.

oekmama 375 pts

Jamila What do you mean? Most of these videos are in the mode of "Hey You(Viewer)! This is what xxx says to me?" That makes three 'people' in the discourse. Or have I understood your point?

Jamila 2819 pts

oekmama I think you and I may have a different perspective on these videos. All of the other videos that I have seen are of the "sh*t so-and-so says" variety, while Chesca's video is "sh*t so-and-so says to someone else". The first variety of the video is like an impersonal, third-person, view of a persons behavior while Chesca's video's takes a second-person, personal view of the behavior.

EarthJeff 754 pts

Jamila Her video is way better than any of the other "what say" videos I have seen.

Jamila 2819 pts

EarthJeff I like sh*t blacks guys say too.

Some years ago, I was talking with a black lady in a medical office, and was floored to hear her say that her daughter had been to the Jersey Shore (summer) and was badly sunburned - I said the usual ... "huh? but you said she's dark black?" ... but then followed by, "I think I need to be educated" - Then I was told that even dark-skinned folks can be hurt from the sun, and that followed by a lot more information, over the next few months, that WM folks like me wouldn't know.
