Review: 100% Pure Kelp & Mint Volumizing Shampoo & Conditioner (So Fluffy!)

IMG_9678

After learning about the class action lawsuit against WEN by Chaz Dean, from women who claim the ingredients cause them to lose gobs of hair, breakage, and scalp irritation, I’m once again reminded that natural products with ingredients you can pronounce. One such product is the Kelp & Mint Volumizing Shampoo and Conditioner from 100% Pure.

I have fine hair, so I often struggle with products that are too heavy and cause breakage or products too thin that they leave my hair a tangled mess, which also leads to breakage. Since the Kelp & Mint Volumizing Shampoo and Conditioner set is the the company’s best seller with hundreds of positive reviews, I thought I should give it a try. I’ve purchased other shampoos from 100% Pure and love them!

I like the formulation of the shampoo, which gives a nice lather without the use of sulfates. After lathering a few seconds, I could literally feel my hair softening, and the light smell of mint gave me some shower aromatherapy. It rinsed away all the dirt and oil without making my hair too “squeaky.” I let the conditioner sit for about an hour because I was doing some housework. It’s definitely not a heavy mask-type formulation and I was a little worried it wouldn’t have enough slip. After I washed out the conditioner, I did an apple cider vinegar rinse and kept it on my hair a bit. Once I rinsed, the softness and shine was incredible and my hair detangling easily. After I dried felt moisturized but not weighed down. It was fluffy!

As for the ingredients, it’s 100% natural and they proudly show their list, unlike WEN, who does not (I’m seen them and there’s a lot of stuff in it created in a lab). The FDA doesn’t mandate the companies show their ingredients online. Perhaps they know that all that goop in the product will turn potential buyers off.
