Schlub-Hotty: Three Looks, One Raggedy T-Shirt.

From “Schlub” to Fab…Three Looks, One T-Shirt.
Much of my time blogging involves me dressing like a schlub. T-shirts and sweats are my go-to uniform–Hollister and Abercrombie are my faves, so please make note of it on your Christmas lists.
Sometimes my job requires I occasionally dress up for meetings, school events, book signings and such, but I’ve discovered a way to keep my t-shirt and still look good.
Each of the following three looks are arranged around one central element–my beloved t-shirts.
Here’s me dropping off the kids at school, going to the market and blogging my fingers off…

Here’s me when I have to dress up a bit more, for say, a parent-teacher conference or a school event when us stay-at-home moms compete to see which one of us can look the most fabulous without actually looking like we tried to be fabulous.

And finally, here’s me at a book signing, convention, or pitching an advertiser to drop some duckets on BB&W…

See? All t-shirts, all the time. Three looks, one central character. As you can imagine, that little white t-shirt gets a lot of use.
So…I’m really, really liking my whole new kind of clean with the 3-in-1 Tide Pods, which is why I agreed to do another post because 1) The pods totally eliminate measuring and spillage onto my front-loading washer, which means I don’t have to clean out the disgusting sludge that accumulates, 2) It combines a cleaner, stain remover and brightener all in one (the only 3-chamber unit dose on the market), thus saving me money and cabinet space; 3) It cleans just as gently as my fancy-schmancy lavender-scented laundry detergent, but does a much better job at removing stains. Just one removes more stains than 6 caps of the liquid bargain brand. (Based on stain removal performance of one pac of Tide Pods vs. 6 doses of the leading liquid bargain brand base variant in a standard top loading machine.) What’s more, Tide Pods don’t have the harsh cleansing salts that leech all the color out of my clothes, which is important because (if you haven’t yet realized) I LOVE hot pink.

I just asked Maxi Me, who has to wash her own clothes because if she didn’t we’d never be able to find the children underneath all the mini-clothing molehills of dirty laundry, and she said, “I like [Tide Pods] because I can just throw them in and not spill detergent all over the place.” Which is good, because she never cleans it up anyway.
The biggest challenge for Tide Pods in my house are the whites because my kids haven’t met a white sock they couldn’t turn brown with dirt in 0 to 60. I hate using bleach all the time, because the harsh chemicals eventually degrade and yellow the fabric. Tide Pods got my kids’ laundry clean and bright and took out *most* of the stains, so that means I have to bleach-blast less frequently.
