Black women have now officially broken the vampire barrier. Twilight: Breaking Dawn 2, set to be released in November, will feature some new characters, among the newbies will be a trio of vampires known as the Amazon coven. According to the Breaking Dawn 2 wiki, “Kachiri” was a member of an ancient native South American tribe that resided in the forest. Several years after becoming a vampire, Kachiri changed her two best-friends ‘Zafrina’ and ‘Senna’–eventually they became the Amazon coven.
Tracey Heggins, the actress who’ll be playing ‘Senna,’ is known for her roles in Chains (2009) and Medicine for Melancholy (2008).

Judith Shekoni, a Brit by birth, will play ‘Zafrina’. Shekoni’s American releases include The Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde (2006) and Garfield: A Tale of Two Kitties (2006)

Don’t look for me to become a Twihard anytime soon, but I do have two new reasons to give the Twilight franchise another chance.

dunno if i'm relieved or bummed...a bit of both i guess. an animated Twi might be good esp since the film actors (save 'jakeup' and the wolves, & for BD2, the south amz) look nothing like i'd imagined.
