It starts with the eyes. Eye contact sets off certain chemical reactions in the brain that can lead to feelings of bonding. While men might try to lock eyes with you, the natural inclination for women is to demurely look away, wait a few seconds, then look back. Lowndes suggest women fight that feeling to look away, and keep your eyes on your target. However, the man’s primal brain thinks an eye-lock may be a challenge (think what happens when you lock eyes with an aggressive dog). So show that you’re granting him alpha status by tilting your head slightly and running your fingers along your neck (the author says this is a primal message of submissiveness).

You know what “bedroom eyes” are? It’s when your intense affection for another is expressed through your eyes–literally. The pupils dilate to appear bigger.
