The squeaky wheel does, indeed get the headlines. It looks like all the protesting and outrage has gotten ole Russ to considering whether or not punk-ass-girl-beater Lil ‘Reese is worth all the trouble.
Read, and then answer me this: If he does lose his contract, how much do you wanna bet that he’ll blame the “bitch snitching” and not his sociopathic tendencies?

Lil Reese was berated with hate messages on Twitter after the video went viral, but his biggest issue could be the backlash from Def Jam Recordings, the label he is currently signed with.
According to sources, Executives at Def Jam are not pleased with the continued negative press the young Chicago rapper is receiving and are pondering whether to release the 19 year old rapper from his contract.
According to reports, the young rapper was already on thin ice with the label after he and his partner Chief Keef publicly mocked the murder of rival rapper Lil Jo Jo.

Earlier this month Reese released his Don’t Like mixtape with DJ Drama and Don Canon. The tape features his latest single “Us,” which was remixed by Rick Ross and Drake on Rozay’s The Black Bar Mitzvah mixtape.

I hadn't heard of this rapper before now. Small wonder, he's part of the "chief keef" clique. I don't support violence against women, the sexism and outright misogyny in hip-hop and the general culture has gone beyond anything remotely defensible due to "racism", "systemic oppression", etc. You cannot carp about the "demonization" of black men when dudes are cell-phone recording themselves beating up girls! You cannot! No excuses. The older have to teach the younger, and hopefully the younger will learn sooner than later. Too many see jail, prison, and the penitentiary as the "street" equivalent of college, just another rite of passage. Shameful.
Def Jam needs to step up with the caliber of artists they sign. They should look for real character, and not just "swagger". It's a shame when labels start signing affirmed criminals to record deals. Too many un the "new" generation of rap see anti-social behavior as simply part of their appeal, and have no ethical or moral compunctions about it at all. At one point, maybe a kid with hiphop talent would seek to elevate themselves from the vices of the ghetto after they get a record deal. But nowadays, people still want to live a straight-up thug life while performing concerts for money and expecting people to buy their records. What happened to the Def Jam that (initially, anyway) supported LL Cool J, Beastie Boys, Run DMC, Public Enemy, 3rd Bass?
