BILLIONAIRES

Prefer Black Women

by Kola Boof

One thing I learned while living with Osama Bin Laden (against my will in 1996)…is that while the saying goes “gentlemen prefer Blondes“…..a less talked about phenomenon is that BILLIONAIRES marry Black  women.

This year alone, we have SEVEN high profile engagements between billionaire men and what are supposedly (according to Western culture) the most undesirable women on earth—Black women.  And the fact that these women are more “authentically Black” (their genes more African looking and less
Mixed/European) is meaningful here.

From CEO of Norton Anti-Virus Peter Norton marrying Gwen…to Naomi Campbell and Janet Jackson snagging two of the richest men in Russia and the Arab world….to Mellody Hobson and George Lucas….to Africa where Black billionaires in Uganda, Algeria and Burkino Faso married “educated” business-owning Black African women…..the phenom is glaring. But the media is not making a big ta-do about it.

They’d rather do books & t.v. specials about how unwanted & unmarried the masses of Black women are—which isn’t a suprise considering Hollywood and the MEDIA have worked the last 100 years to cast the image of Black women as negative, unattractive, maid-driven and forbidden.

Even Black men’s media in America scorns and rejects the Black woman’s image as “rat-like,” non-status worthy and not fit for procreation.

After all….in a White supremacist country the goal is to make White babies, not Black ones. So the problem with Black women is that their wombs produce Black babies–and they are literally devalued in the dating pool for that alone—then accused of being “angry, bitter, ugly” merely because our society doesn’t want to admit that the onus is placed on producing LIGHT/MIXED/WHITE people and demonizes the production of dark skin and actual Black people.

It’s true. Yet in the face of all that hatred for Black women and their Black baby-making wombs….Billionaires (and not just billionaires, but the world’s most powerful men IN GENERAL such as President Barack Obama)…..are still choosing BLACK women.

(NORTON SECURITY creator Peter Norton and his new wife, Gwen—-his 2nd Black Wife).

When I first wrote about my experiences with Bin Laden ten years ago, I also wrote about Condoleeza Rice being chased across North Africa by Moamar Khadafi…I wrote about the song he wrote about her. (*Yes, long before the Western media reported Arab male leaders’ obsesion with Condoleeza…I wrote about it in my autobiography).

And during the time that I worked for Khadafi at White Bride I watched one Arab billionare after the other come and go with tall, chocolate African mistresses (and sometimes even wives) in tow.

Back then, Palestinian leader Arafat had a Black American mistress who was also a porn star.  Some of you will call out her name. I won’t. But I remember him buying her a mansion in Italy and an apartment building in London. The following year, when Osama Bin Laden released me, he gave me a farm in Kenya and a house in South Africa.  Though I didn’t want or like Bin Laden…two other men that I’d dated during my era as an actress-model in North Africa were also billionaires….one of them married a Black woman, the other married a Korean.

Luckily I went on to marry a wonderful Black Man, a marine, Simon Palacio, who during our 10 year marriage became a millionaire selling his own electronics to the U.S. State Department!

So, you see, this is the other side of the coin…one that isn’t talked about.

Black Women may not get the hoodrat athletes and rappers. But we are very popular with BILLIONAIRES.  Bill Gates once dated a Mixed Race Black woman….and today, Warren Buffet, Ted Turner and Donald Trump all have Black mistresses….aside from the 7 marriages scheduled for Billionaires and Black women in 2013.

The most powerful men in the world……prefer what?

I THOUGHT ‘CHOO YOU KNEW.

so who's that billionaire in Burkina Faso that married a black African american ? Being from that country, I'd love to know...

Another thought: I personally think that Billionaires/powerful men can appreciate a strong woman and that's what increases the appeal of Black women. Billionaires are use to being surrounded by "yes" men, gold diggers and the entitled. Sistas give it to you straight-NO CHASER- are loyal, fiercely protective and still know how to be sexual and supportive. It's a match made in heaven.

RealSistasRoNDaInside 14 pts

Furthermore, I think it's a great idea that black women stop waiting around for Brothers. If there are a lot of single black women out there it's because they CHOOSE to be single. Don't let your prejudice's prevent you from being happy with someone of a different race. interracial dating isn't for everyone-but open yourself up ladies. Wake up. 100 years from now the concept of "race" will be foreign to many.

I agree with the overall importance of this message to black women. However....It would have been a better article had you not said " And the fact that these women are more “authentically Black” (their genes more African looking and less Mixed/European) is meaningful here." It made me (a fair-skinned sista from Brooklyn, ny) feel excluded. Am i not "AUTHENTICALLY BLACK?" because I'm lighter? Why include such a dividing comment? You could have simply attached photos of all of the "african" looking women to the article for visual support and kept it at "black women." I GET that the mass media, hip-hop etc have glorified the fairer-skinned sista but let's not make two wrongs a right. Black women are Black women. If the trend/message is that Billionaires marry Black women then great for ALL black women. It will help us with how we view and value ourselves. Otherwise I thought the article was cute and CHEERS to the young black girls who will grow up more self worth than generations before them.

RealSistasRoNDaInside "Am i not "AUTHENTICALLY BLACK?"

The word authentically black as Kola uses it has nothing to do with ethnicity, nor race. Kola is herself bi-racial. What she is referring to is COLOR. And it must be admitted that dark-skinned women are notoriously maligned for being dark, having "kinky" hair, and non-Eurocentric features.

This wasn't meant to exclude lighter women. It was meant to ENCOURAGE dark-skinned women who have been routinely told that "nobody wants you because you black and ugly (where "ugly" represents absolute proof of their African ancestory)".

Often light-skinned women assume that dark-skinned women being praised means they are being picked on or excluded. The black community has never tried to exclude or cast away black women of lighter shades. Except perhaps in situations where they are no longer needed as substitute white women.

But that is an entirely different conversation and not the point of this post. This is about black women, and yes, that does include lighter-black women. But for the most part, it's more important to correct negative opinions when it comes the desirability of DARK-SKINNED BLACK WOMEN WHOSE FEATURES ARE NOT TYPICALLY "WHITE" OR EUROCENTRIC.

very well said.  i appreciate the clarity.  sometimes the dismay of the light skinned black women who cringe when a black woman is being praised for her black looks is annoying.  everyone knows that the whiter looking or more mixed race looking women of the world are  usually preferred - so why the defensiveness?  keep quiet unless you are afraid of losing a status gained by the soul killing of the majority of us.  it reminds me of the absurdity of whites cringing when we blacks decide that we are fully human and as beautiful as anyone else.  problack does not mean antiwhite.  problack is a necessary corrective to centuries of white supremacist thought and racist practices.  all i want to hear from my light skinned sisters on the subject is hear, hear!  we don't all have to agree with kola boof but one thing for sure she will defend the dark skinned black woman when no one else will.  i appreciate her for that.

I have to agree. I'm a brown skinned woman & ever since I learned to breathe I've heard black male preference for light skinned women with "good" hair. It's a fact, & it really hasn't gone away as much as we'd like to think. I'm a teacher ( k-6 elementary level) & over the years have routinely heard negative remarks from young boys about dark girls & any girl with kinky hair who wears extensions. Some will call out "she's got a weave" & then laugh & I've had to stop class & read them the riot act about not disrespecting girls & women WHO HAVE THE SAME KIND OF HAIR ON THEI HEADS AS THOSE BOYS DO and that humans, male & female, have worn wigs & hairpieces for thousands of years & it's no big deal. The girls' feelings are hurt & I have to talk to them about self love & pride. Light girls don't have to face this hair/skin color mess nearly as often. My school is very multicultural with a lot of immigrant kids & it's embarrassing to have to deal with such nonsense in front of them. They don't understand all the fuss over hair & skin types. The music video folks & rappers aren't any help either. Their preference for light girls is obvious . I don't thing the OP is insulting light girls at all & they shouldn't feel bad. But you have to be honest & recognize when a problem exists

@VerbalKarate - I think it's a great thing for people to vigorously pursue love wherever it legitimately presents itself. Just trying to clarify the position here though. So are we suggesting that it's time to be okay with interracial dating now that prominent white billionaires are dating black women? Because it wasn't okay with more than a few black women before.

Brenda55 20934 pts moderator

VerbalKarate  No.  The author is not suggesting that at all.

" So are we suggesting that it's time to be okay with interracial dating now that prominent white billionaires are dating black women?"

It's none of anyone else's business who you date, and you should be able to date whomever you want regardless of who's okay with it. This is something we're communicating to black women across the black woman interracial dating blogsphere.

The subject of this particular post is an observation that a lot of billionaires tend to marry black women. Though there are black women marrying interracially at various levels of society, and so long as they are pursuing their happiness, that is all that matters.

Toni_M  VerbalKarate Brenda55 Sigh....I mentioned "African" billionaires in the article (all black men)...annnnd....that I married a black man who later became a millionaire. Yet whenever Black men read this article, they totally see it as an "interracial article" and not an economic one. I am GLAD that Black women are marrying *White* men...very glad...but that was not the focus of this article.

KolaBoof1  Toni_M  Keep in mind, men are visual. And note the pics. I seriously was just curious about the thinking below the surface. I really enjoyed the read.

Toni_M 20062 pts moderator

VerbalKarate  KolaBoof1 Those pics were used because they're relevant to the women here as interracial-centric. But Kola really meant billionaires of various ethnicities, including African.

We actually discussed one African billionaire on another post. I believe he was Nigerian and married to a black woman.

"I thought choo knew"... dying laughing right now... loved this Kola!

Like myself.........these white men find black women attractive and sexy............and there is no longer a negative stigma attached to interracial relationships. This attraction is also not a one way street friends. Take if from one who has been dating inter-racially for40 years.

Black male athletes do actually still mostly marry black women, it is just the media that likes to give the impression they don't. There is nothing hoodrat about being an athlete, so Kola Boof should stop the hating on athletes.

I like Kola, but I agree with you. The media is so unfair and full of shit.

It does seem like you see a lot of wealthy prominent men dating black women, I wonder if they are perhaps more open to it than average joe's would be. The money and power probably gives them confidence to not care what people think...

I loved reading this article. Glad to see Black women happy in life.  I've always been accused of having golddigging tendencies by people. But I never saw anything wrong with wanting a man that can give you a quality of life. And besides I can't bring just anyone home to my family.  Our standards are too high for that.

Thank GOD for this post! I must admit; I for one, was starting to be a little too bothered by this entire portray of angry, bitter, crazy black women. What bothers me most is that it's even black men saying these horrible things about black women.

My mixed heritage Irish boyfriend and I now have a business that may, ultimately, with continued drive and due diligence, may make us wealthy someday.   He's that man with the nose to grindstone, it's what he's about and does his best to give me what I need and want, we have our moments as any couple does and have been together going 5 years now (hard to believe, time flies when you're having fun and workin' your ass off to make things happen) so I most definitely feel you, Ms. Boof.

So sorry you got banned from buttbook.    You too powerful gurl.   They mad, let 'em be mad 'cause you droppin' jewels of knowledge and I guess folk can't "handle the truth" (you), bwaaahahahahahaha.

KolaBoof1 Well, think of it this way. Even if you can't post, what you've written is already there and no matter how hard these people pitch a fit, they cannot take your words down, nor can they do anything about the information that's already out there.

Just think of it as a 30 day vacation, after which if you want, you can immediately recommence pissing off the haters.

I'm rather stunned they'd ban you, given the rather controversial pages they have no intention of doing anything about:

http://www.guardian.co.uk/technology/2011/sep/30/facebook-refuses-pull-rape-jokepages

"Facebook has refused to take the offending pages down, insisting they are intended to be "a place where people can openly discuss issues and express their views....groups that express an opinion on a state, institution, or set of beliefs – even if that opinion is outrageous or offensive to some – do not by themselves violate our policies."

....Well then.

Toni_M KolaBoof1 ""Facebook has refused to take the offending pages down""

That's disgusting, FB won't take down "rape-joke pages", ugh.  But they banned Kola for a month because she offended some DBR BM who can't mind their own business?

Oh, I forgot BM are an endangered species, so it's perfectly acceptable for them to be angry about BW talking about other BW on a Black Woman's website!

<Fuming>

BM are the definition of the word "entitled".  They think they have the right to come into our spaces and rant, even when it is a BW/non-BM article or blog BM still think they are invited and have the right to lecture us..... I'd like a restraining order.

Great article.  The point for me is to walk around like I have the best to offer a good man of my choosing, whether he is a billionaire or not.  Being Black doesn't change my mentality.  I have always noticed that when a high-status White male chooses a Black woman, it is something special.  It's almost like they have discovered a secret and are quite pleased that it isn't out yet.

ATTENTION SISTERS.....<<A>>The billionaires from those African countries don't necessarily live in those countries. I used their birth nationalities to identify them. AFRICA has more than 12 billionaires, not all are acknowledged by FORBES. Example: Osama Bin Laden and Moamar Khadafi were both billionaires yet Forbes did not acknowledge them. Robert Mugabe could qualify as a Billionaire, but Forbes doesn't acknowledge him.  FORBES, a Western agency...doesn't list all the of the billionaires in the world, despite their attempts to do so.   <<B>> Ben Horowitz spoke directly to me, that's where his comment comes from. I contacted him after Author Connie Briscoe mentioned that he was married to a black woman. He responded with a quote.<<C>> Naomi Campbell's Russian beau has stated that they are getting married, he's spent $157 million building Naomi 2 new mansions + purchased a condo in Miami last year...anyone can look that up...and his wife has no power to stop it. She's an idiot. Her man has publicly stated that he is marrying Naomi and he is a Billionaire.

Hey Kola, I applaud you for writing this masterpiece. You forgot to mention Aliko Dangote who controls about 3% of the world's sugar business but is never acknowledged by forbes and Adnuga who is a telecoms tycoon and billionaire from Nigeria. The media hypocrisy is a travesty and I am so proud of you for making my sisters open their eyes to it. Do you also notice how movies about great black women never feature a black actress? Cleopatra is portrayed as white, Maqueda ( the queen of Sheba) is portrayed as white. Mariane Pearl was played  Angelina jolie, and I hear that Frieda pinto will be playing you (Kola) in a movie. God forbid that an actual beautiful black actress play the role of a beautiful black woman in Hollywood!!!

I know that this piece is mainly about billionaires, but do you know that Prince Albert of Monaco dated a black woman for 6 years and has a son with her? How about Princess Angela of Liechtenstein? They are unacknowledged by the media ofcourse. I stopped buying magazines because I realized that I was paying to an industry that abhors women like me and women like me are almost never in the pages. That's the reason why **** ******* like chung would have the guts to say what she said to you. smh
