People Magazine Shows Racial Shade During Shonda Rhimes Big Network Television Night

Okay folks, there needs to be a racial insensitivity line drawn in the sand! People magazine threw shade during the festive live Tweeting that went on last night during Shonda Rhimes’ big debut night on network television. Three major shows, Gray’s Anatomy, Scandal and How to Get Away With Murder all premiered last night on ABC, all created by the powerhouse television producer. Instead of joining along in the conversation and showing support for three brands that are at the forefront of entertainment pop culture, the old news rag loved by depressed housewives everywhere, decided to let lose with commentary done in very poor taste. The Twitterverse was there to see it and offer their collective commentary in return.

People Magazine was recently sued for racial discrimination by a former editor, Tatsha Robertson, who was reportedly told, “You need to talk like everyone else here. You’re not at Essence anymore.” Read more about People and their alleged discomfort of people of color here.
