Mellody chose well, and will marry whom she deems as the best man for the job. Not the best black man, but the best man.
Taking a break from the ratchetness of the KimYe spawn, I’m tickled to announce that our very own Eugenia is expecting a child with her HUSBAND. You may recall that Eugenia announced that she and her other half were going to try to conceive, but combined with her diabetes, high blood pressure and age, she faced some potential health challenges. But she just announced on New Year’s Day that she’ll be expecting her little bundle of joy come September.
I am THRILLED to announce that Shaun Brown has asked his girlfriend, Victoria for her hand in marriage, and she has accepted!
News about “Think Like a Man” star Michael Ealy secretly married a non-black woman was posted today on the Essence Facebook fan page. My girl Rasheda posted a link and made a comment about all the hateful, bitter black women who felt like they lost another brotha to a “white” woman. So I moseyed on over to see for myself, and low and behold the claws were out.
It may surprise some that American sisters and African sisters are also living happily in Korea with their husbands and children.
Black women who advocate for other black women to expand their dating pools to include all races are often accused of bashing black men; as some are quick to apply the DBR (damaged beyond repair) label to them. No one claims that all black men are dbrs. That would be unfair as there are some great black men out there.

This is a true story about a white guy who never dated interracially, had a somewhat myopic view on race relations, and never dreamed in a million years he would have a black wife.
If you haven’t cracked open an issue of Wedding Nouveau, here’s a taste of what you’re missing.
The case of Glenda Moore and the downing death of her two young boys reminds mixed race families have to choose their neighbors and neighborhoods wisely.
Remember a while back when we were discussing creative ways to meet new people? Well Jewel Barnett (now Jewel Barnett-Sheridan) did just that last January, and met her new hubby, James. They met in a running club. This guy knew what he wanted and went for it, because they started dating in May and he asked for her hand in marriage in June. And just this month…
I am a proud conservative republican and Mitt Romney supporter. With the level of vitriol hurled at black conservatives, I was not going to chime in as I think “why bother” sometimes this is not my fight. But I have a right to my say and views as much as anyone else. I don’t insult anyone who feels differently, nor do I resort to name calling because I disagree politically with anyone.
Having said that, I am by no means a defender of the Mormon faith but knowing what I know, I could not stand by and let some of the assumptions I have seen go unchallenged.
Turns out interracial unions between black women and Asian men aren’t a recent development. Take a look at these vintage photos and see for yourself.
The interracial marriage in this show is just “meh” for me compared to the overall storyline.
It seems like every week there’s a new anti-swirling article on so-called black women’s interest blogs, and I have to wonder why. I mean, we’re so trivial…right? Why all the attention?
