Goddess of the Week: Va-Va-Voom!!

Oh. My. Goddess. Black beauty at it’s finest.

Hello! My name is Aisha and I’m a social work grad student AND the mother of
an 8 yr old son. I love all things that have to do with social justice. I
love to read and write and aspire to write a book one day. I live in
Manhattan but want to branch out of New York in search of new adventures,
i.e. Florida.

In my spare time I love to travel, cook, write, watch movies,
play Scrabble, go to museums, or just stay home with a great book and a host
of other fun things.

When it comes to matters of the heart, I would prefer a man who was
God-fearing, intelligent, witty, funny, down-to-earth, outrageously silly,
and who has a great sense of humor. What I would look for the most is
starting a good, solid friendship. At the end of the day don’t we all just
want to be with our best friend?

Ok, time to wrap this up! Take care and God bless!

Aisha, you are beautiful! Best of luck to you on your move and finding a fella!

Now, how about sharing your skincare regimen because your skin is flawless!

Aisha, you almost make me wish I was young again! Beauty, brains, and common sense, all rolled up in one package! Keep it up, girl! Be that role model!

Good Luck Aisha. May you be rewarded with the man of your dreams.

Both of the women pictured above are beautiful.

Aisha is simply gorgeous and she seems very down to earth. I wish her all the best in life. :)

Best of luck to our gorgeous goddess Aisha!!

And it would be really great if we could keep it positive on the GOTW posts; there are other times and places to discuss posture, manner of introduction, children, etc. I mean really, people aren't being featured to solicit advice or feedback on their personal lives. The peanut gallery needs to shut it with this negativity every week.

Agreed, Dani. I deleted the negative comments, because this is a feature showcasing women who are beautiful in their own unique ways and accomplished. I will not allow anyone to say negative things about our Goddesses. Don't we get enough of that already? We are a sisterhood here, and Aisha is our sister. She WILL be treated with the respect she deserves.

Thank you all for such wonderful encouragement! I love that I am now Facebook friends with some of you. I pray that our fellowship is a source of strength and encouragement to each other.

Thank you, Christelyn, for what you are continuing to do to empower us. The world is just NOT black and white and we all have so many different stories that have made us stronger and that have brought us all together in a sisterhood.

God bless you all!

Thanks Chris. This should be a supportive space when people are putting themselves out there. Since you're going to delete the haters, maybe now I will work up the courage to be featured :)

You go one ahead, girl. info@beyondblackwhite.com.

I'm glad I missed the tacky comments. I remember seeing these first on a particularly attractive goddess post a few weeks back, where some commenters had a lot to say about "posture," and blah blah. They need to work on themselves and be the best they can be so they do not have to express any thinly veiled envy.

Good luck Aisha!

I really admire you because of your will to conquer social injustices. All the best finding your best friend.

Marcie, I dearly appreciate it! God bless you!

She's got Beauty and Brains! Good luck hun with your move to Florida, you are definitely Destined to do great things with your life!

That was sweet, Kai! Thank you so much!

Good luck in Florida. Intelligent and pretty you will do well.

Thank you, Ann! I appreciate that!

Such a pretty smile! All the best on the quest for love. :)

Thanks SO much, Maggie! :-)
