This commercial blows just about every stereotype about how black women do go in the water, don’t want to get their hair wet, or do outdoor activities. Me thinks one of the account execs has a black girlfriend.
Again, this is not an accident. Advertisers are not in the business of being social justice warriors or pushers of envelopes. They follow the trends and look at the data. Everything is researched, calculated, and market tested even before we see a single frame.
