It’s no secret that I love soap operas. And I’m really, really, REALLY mad that ABC is cancelling All My Children and One Life to Live and replace them with some dumb food shows and more hen-clucking shows like The View. I don’t like drama in my life, but I am certainly not opposed to seeing actors living lives rife with it.

So my new excuse not to work and cook the children breakfast is the Awkward Black Girl series. I’m loving the angst the main character goes through and the love interest developing (kinda) between a ginger-haired white guy, although she pants for the black guy, who’s nice too, but enjoying all the attention and exploiting the competition between the two women in the workplace who want him. Wow. That sounds so familiar. Where have I seen that before?
