After reaching a plateau in my weight-loss maintenance, I decided it was time to shake things up a bit–literally. I’ve joined a yoga studio and now go twice a week, do sprint and rest intervals on the treadmill at least twice a week, and then continue with my barre method routines every other day. I’m trying to break to 131-pound mark and see if I can get back to my high school weight of 128. It’s not far off, but my body is refusing to budge. With all that working out, the stink of the sweat and food stains (I also cook in my workout clothes) needs a really good cleaning and an absolute mandatory elimination of odors. Since I never wash any of my clothes in hot water (in order to preserve the life of the material) I need something strong and effective that doesn’t require I darn-near boil my clothes to get them clean. Enter Tide Pods, my new favorite laundry thing. It’s a powerful 3-in-1 detergent that cleans, brightens, and fights stains. And I must not be the only one whose loving them because I’m seeing imitators pop up down the laundry aisle, but Tide Pods are the only three-chamber single use liquid laundry detergent pacs on the market. I’m still using gentle laundry detergent for my newest clothing obsession–fancy lingerie, but for the heavy-duty stuff like workout clothes, t-shirts and jeans, it’s Tide Pods all the way. I’ve been using Tide Pods all year, but I must admit I was a little concerned that any detergent that wasn’t Woolite or Vaska might fade the colors of my clothes and make them look dingy. Now me and the Tide Pods have history, and the company’s claim that is “brightens and whitens” holds true, and I love that my clothes don’t feel stiff and scratchy after the wash. Oh, and I haven’t yet mentioned the smell…
