Serious VELVET Lips: Urban Decay Brings Back Lipstick and It’s HOT!!

I got a chance to visit the Urban Decay master command center last week so I can bring you the details on what’s hot when the weather cools in the fall. And this year, it’s all about the lipstick, and after years of shelving the stuff, Urban Decay has brought back lipstick with a vengence. Yes; the glosses are sexy and glittery, but the Revolution lipstick, long-lasting, RICH with pigment, and velvety is sure to stop traffic. The color series has come out in 22 shades, and I’ve tried them all. These are my favorites, and what I would recommend for women who are somewhere near my skin tone:

Venom and Shame are on a deep purple spectrum, Anarchy is a fun hard-candy pink, and 69 is a dazzling red.

Wear this with a black and white outfit and you will DEFINITELY turn some heads!

What’s also great about these colors is that most of them come with the exact color 24/7 Glide-On lip pensil, so there’s no tricky color-matching stuff you have to worry about. As with the other pensils in 24/7, the formula is amazing, plus it’s water-proof but won’t go on dry and cakey. In short, it’s pretty amaze-balls.

For those of you with serious feathering issue, you might want to try Ozone, their new clear lip pencil that you apply outside of the lips to fill any lines that the lipstick might bleed into. I tried it, and it’s cool. But I don’t really have too much problems with feathering so I might give this to Mother.

Just a note, the lipstick goes on velvet smooth, but it’s pretty creamy-matte. It makes for a classy, polished look, so rich and amazing. But it you want a little shimmer, apply a clear gloss on top like I did in the photo below.

I wore the new line of lipstick when I picked up the kids from camp, and I knew there was going to be a barbeque at the site. I ate a bunless hot dog (#gopaleo!) and watermelon, along with a salad. After all that, I went to the bathroom to have a check and my lipstick stayed in place with no need for a touch-up. Must be all the good stuff they put in there, like jojoba oil, avocado oil, cocoa butter and shea butter.

Here’s an overview and application tutorial I think will be helpful for you…

Be on the lookout for other new goodies from Urban Decay, like their new NAKED press powder, B6 Vitamin-Infused Complexion Spray, and new, anti-aging eyeshadow primer.
