Hmmm…Why I Might Need to Check Out the Next Season of “Californication”

blackpanthershay I've been meaning to watch Misfits! oh and don't forget Merlin (I LOVE that show)! The woman who plays Guinevere, Angel Coulby, is a biracial woman (half black/half white). You would not believe the amount of hate she gets from a portion of the female audience BUT ALAS the numbers don't lie. When you look at the highest watched episodes of Merlin, they always include the episodes where she and her love interest Arthur (future King) have a lot of scenes. I've noticed several black UK actresses I follow are in roles with interracial love interests :) Look up Freema Agyeman as well (Doctor Who, Law & Order, etc). I believe she met her bf (a wm) on the set of Doctor Who.

Jamila I think you are correct. And SYFY channel seems to have gotten the message with Eureka and Haven. There is a SYFY producer named JJ Abrams that pushes the envelope. He did Star Trek and pulled that blindside by making Uhura and Spoke the love interest inside of Kirk. That was great .

It was about time that happened. Kirk gets a new girl every planet or starship or alternate universe the Enterprise stumbles upon. Spock deserved to get the girl for once. Only complaint, and it's not really a complaint, is that Zachary Quinto who plays Spock is gay. He's not wired to appreciate that he's getting to kiss ZOE SALDANA.

Well, I think it doesn't matter since it's about the character and not the actor. Too often, straight actors are awarded and seen as brave for portrayals of gay men and women (Tom Hanks anyone?) and a gay man or woman happens to play someone straight (with no trauma or discrimination involved) and it's seen as unfortunate or unbelievable.

I like him as Spock and had been jokingly calling him that ages before he got the role. And he owned it. And I like the character with Uhura. I mean Kirk wanted to be all over that, but then Kirk wants to be all over everyone.

I'm not sure where the relationship between the characters will go in the future, but I think it was great for what happened in the first movie. (With everything happening, there wasn't much time for romance). Can't wait for the next movie!

The guy from Wutang has been in a couple of movies. As far as I've seen, he's not bad as an actor, if he has good material to work with. I was wondering about that show Shameless. I tried to watch the UK version recently but I just did not get into it past the first few minutes of the first episode, for some reason. And that one has James McAvoy in it, whom I really like, but I just didn't get into it.

Neo Ned was a funny, enjoyable movie. I watched it a couple of times. It's on YouTube as well, I think. Renner is an endearing actor. He and Union were perfect for their roles.

eugeniamitchell, Even though people label Tom as "crazy", I like the guy. I just think he screwed up when he started dating Katie, and ran his mouth off too much. But before that, he was actually a very private guy whom interviewers had to try really hard with to get any information, because he never used to discuss personal things. I remember watching an interview with him and Jamie Foxx when he did Collateral, and he wouldn't give up any info. It was embarrassing for that interviewer, because she was trying real hard. Oh, Tom, how you screwed up and went overboard. Too bad.

I remember Thandie Newton was also in Interview with the Vampire with Tom Cruise. If I'm not mistaken, I think that he is the one who actually asked for her to have the role that she got, because she wasn't a well known actress at that time.

How he jumping on Brooke Shields for taking meds for her post-partum depression, he should have just shut up. But Brooke forgave him so I do too. He's cool with me still kooky though. But there's lots of kooky actors. I'm not hating on him, he's still gorgeous to me crazy or not LOL. At least he's not as crazy as Mel Gibson.

eugeniamitchellblackpanthershayAdrienneLondonLeachPearl He was so funny in Tropic Thunder. And he could MOVE, it was the funniest part of the movie. I don't know how they managed to make him look so entirely different. He obviously has a good sense of humor about himself.

I didn't really get into Tropic Thunder, but I thought the character Tom Cruise played was pure WIN. His dancing was definitely hilarious. Tom Cruise is really good at playing quirky characters. I respect him much more as a character actor, than a leading man. I think his serious approach to roles works to his advantage when he plays a quirky part, such as the one in Tropic Thunder, and also when he played the hit man in Collateral. He OWNED his part in Collateral. I remember when Patrick Swayze and some of the other actors who were in that movie, The Outsiders got together to watch and discuss the film, on it's 25th anniversary, I believe it was,,and they talked about how Tom Cruise always took his role in The Outsiders seriously, and his character barely had any screentime, That really told me a lot about how he appraoches things. When he's passionate about something, there's no stopping him, it seems.
