Did You Know? Black Women Are Bashed On You Tube for Page Views.

I dapple a little on You Tube as you know, and the more time I spend there, the more I realize that there’s some sort of culture being formed by the people who search, watch and share videos there. There’s a pack of people who follow beauty and gardening blogs, and of course you know that the natural hair revolution happened there. But did you know that hands down, the most popular videos on “black You Tube” are the ones that degrade black women? I’m not just talking about the chicken-head-purple-weave-eater black women, but ALL of us. Black men have formed entire careers putting down black women for the blood thirsty masses. We are literally being thrown under, over, inside, and alongside the bus for pennies on the page view.

Key in “black women” in the search bar and you’ll hear nothing but men that look like us spewing racist rants that would be the envy of any collateral material found in the Aryan Nation. For many people who hate us, these hate videos are like food for a starving man. It is lapped up and eaten whole, no questions asked, no critical thinking required. Black women are the devil, and the source of all ills in the community. One man said frankly, “Talking about black women gets you page views.” Is this going to be the new wave of raciomisogyny, right at the heels of hip hop? Seems to me if you can make a buck or shilling kicking a black woman there’s a medium at the ready to pay you to do it. Well, I guess it beats going to medical school.

But don’t think it is going unnoticed. Men of other races and cultures are learning of this disgusting behavior and they are beginning to speak on it. They look at all this vitriol with shock and horror, because they aren’t making money on You Tube or anywhere else bashing their own women. Blacks are “unique” in that way, I guess.

But isn’t it nice to know you have choices, ladies? Run away from the men who hate you. And once you realize that you can jump out of that dirty puddle you’ve been swimming in and dive into an ocean of options, you know you’re romantically empowered.
