Angela Bassett Just Turned 58. What’s YOUR Excuse?

Hell…I for one, don’t have one. If this woman, a member of AARP, can look like this at 58, I can’t really build an reasonable defense for why my ass and back don’t look like this.

One of God’s blessings for black women is that, if we take care of ourselves, eat well, take care of our minds and bodies, we age the slowest of all races of women. But just because you were gifted by the melanin gods doesn’t mean you can sit on your laurels and eat Ding Dongs all day. While we age more slowly, black women have the highest rates of obesity, diabetes, stroke, high blood pressure, and hormone-related cancers. What’s the point of having no wrinkles if you’re dying inside?

Angela is looking at you, girl. She’s wondering when you’re going to get up of the couch and take your health in your own hands. If you have some hesitation  about how to get started, take a look at the other post I did today about a way you can kick start your Angela Bassett body TODAY.

Now if you’ll excuse me, I’m going to go do about 1,000 squats.

I’ll leave this final thought with you.
